In SharePoint 2013 Access services when you create a new Access app all its content is stored in the separate MS SQL tables. All Access data types are mapped to SQL Server database data types. When you create a new table in the Access app using one of the preconfigured templates, other related tables may be added to the app automatically. SharePoint 2013 has introduced new architecture of Access services. Now it utilizes SharePoint web apps model and you need to create Access apps instead of web databases. All the data from the Access apps is stored in separate SQL server databases. You can still view and edit web databases that were created in Access 2010 on the SharePoint site, but you cannot open it directly form browser.
